What we do

Electrical installation and cabling for critical facilities

Eight connected capabilities covering the full electrical scope of a data centre — from the LV intake to certified fibre records. Take the whole package, or a single work package alongside your existing contractors.

01 — Power

HV/LV power distribution

The backbone of the facility: everything between the incoming supply and the equipment that depends on it.

We terminate and interconnect switchgear, install and set out busbar systems, build sub-distribution and take power down to remote power panels and rack level. Cable routes are planned for capacity and future growth, not just for today’s load, and every circuit is recorded as it is installed.

Where a design is still developing, our supervisors will sit with the design team early. Catching a containment clash or a busbar tap-off position on paper costs an hour; catching it on site costs a week.

Typical scope

  • Transformer, switchgear and switchboard terminations
  • Overhead and underfloor busbar systems with tap-off units
  • Sub-main distribution, RPPs and floor-standing PDUs
  • SWA, LSZH, fire-rated and MICC cabling installations
  • Cable tray, ladder, basket and trunking containment
  • Final circuits, mechanical plant supplies and controls power
  • Load balancing, phase rotation and A/B segregation checks
  • Circuit schedules, labelling and asset tagging as installed

Typical scope

  • Rack and cabinet delivery, build, levelling and bolt-down
  • Overhead basket, ladder and fibre runner installation
  • Rack PDU installation with A and B feed segregation
  • Power whips, commando and IEC lock connectivity
  • Cold aisle containment, blanking and brush strip
  • Labelling to client convention, barcoding and asset registers
  • Row-by-row energisation and customer acceptance walks
  • De-install, decommissioning and responsible disposal

02 — White space

Data hall fit-out and rack build

The visible part of the job — and the part that gets audited by every customer who walks the hall.

We deliver white space works to an agreed energisation programme, row by row, so operators can hand space to their own customers in phases rather than waiting for a single completion date.

Presentation matters here. Consistent whip dressing, tidy containment, correct blanking and accurate labelling are not cosmetic details — they are what a prospective tenant sees on a tour, and what an engineer relies on at 3am.

03 — Connectivity

Structured cabling and fibre

Copper and fibre infrastructure installed, tested and certified — with results you can actually use.

Every link is tested, and every result is handed over in the tester’s native format alongside a readable summary. Where a link fails, it is remediated and retested before it appears on a schedule — we do not pass problems downstream.

We work to the client’s naming convention from day one. If there is not one yet, we will propose a scheme that survives expansion rather than one that runs out of numbers at the second row.

Typical scope

  • Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7 copper installation and termination
  • OM4, OM5 and OS2 fibre, pre-terminated trunks and field splicing
  • MPO/MTP backbone, cassette and patch panel build
  • Fusion splicing, OTDR and insertion-loss testing
  • Certification to ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA-568 class limits
  • Meet-me room, cross-connect and carrier hand-off works
  • Patching, port mapping and DCIM record population
  • Full test result packs, port schedules and as-built records

Typical scope

  • UPS module positioning, connection and interconnection
  • Battery string and lithium cabinet installation and torquing
  • Generator connection, changeover and control wiring
  • Static transfer switches and maintenance bypass works
  • Load bank connection for witnessed testing
  • Resilience upgrades and switchgear replacement in live halls
  • BMS/EPMS interface wiring and monitoring points
  • Isolation, switching schedules and phased changeover plans

04 — Resilience

UPS, batteries and standby power

The electrical works around the equipment that carries the facility when the grid does not.

We install and connect UPS systems, battery plant and generator infrastructure, and we carry out the switching and changeover work that resilience upgrades demand — including in halls that stay live throughout.

This work lives or dies on planning. Before anything is isolated, the sequence is written down, reviewed with the operations team and rehearsed on paper: what is isolated, what carries the load, what the abort point is, and who calls it.

05 — Assurance

Testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing

Installation is only half of the deliverable. The other half is the evidence that it was installed correctly and performs as designed.

Inspection & testing

Continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance and RCD testing, with certification issued to BS 7671 or the applicable national standard by qualified, calibrated-equipped engineers.

Pre-commissioning

Point-to-point checks, torque verification and thermographic surveys under load, plus static and functional checks of distribution equipment before energisation.

IST support

Attendance and electrical support through client and third-party commissioning levels, including load bank management, failure-mode testing and witnessed black-building tests to Level 5.

06 — Protection

Earthing, bonding and protection

Quiet, unglamorous work that decides whether sensitive equipment behaves for the next fifteen years.

We install earthing and bonding systems for data halls and plant areas, including common bonding networks, mesh bonding within rows, rack bonding and supplementary equipotential bonding. Lightning protection and surge protection works are delivered alongside, and earth electrode and continuity readings are recorded and issued as part of the handover pack.

Typical scope

  • Common bonding networks and mesh bonding grids
  • Rack, containment and cable management bonding
  • Earth electrode installation and resistance testing
  • Lightning protection to BS EN 62305 principles
  • Surge protective devices at distribution levels
  • EMC-aware segregation of power and data routes

Typical scope

  • Planned preventive maintenance visits to an agreed schedule
  • Periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting
  • Thermographic surveys with prioritised remedial actions
  • Remedial programmes delivered around change windows
  • Moves, adds and changes at rack and patching level
  • Small works and minor projects under a call-off agreement
  • 24/7 emergency call-out for framework clients
  • Multi-site estate cover on a single agreement

07 — Aftercare

Maintenance, remedials and 24/7 support

The relationship should not end at practical completion.

We hold maintenance and call-off agreements covering single facilities and dispersed European estates, combining scheduled inspection with a defined response route when something needs attention outside working hours.

Reporting is written to be read by someone who has to make a decision: what was found, what it means, what it costs to fix, and how urgently it needs doing.

08 — Delivery

How the work is managed

Every project gets a named project manager and a directly employed supervisor on site. You will always know who to call, and they will always know the answer.

Supervision

Named, directly employed

A supervisor who travels with the project, holds the quality sign-off and runs the daily briefing.

Safety

Permit-driven working

RAMS for every activity, permit to work, lock-off and tag, and documented competency for every operative on site.

Reporting

Weekly and honest

Progress against programme, photographic records, quality inspections, and early warning when something is drifting.

Handover

Built as we go

As-builts, schedules, certificates and O&M content assembled during the works, issued in your preferred format.

The service sections are built into the theme template page-templates/template-services.php. Content added in this editor is appended below the designed sections.

Have a project in the pipeline?

Send us the drawings, the specification or just the dates you are working to. You will get a considered response from someone who has installed the work — not a generic brochure.
